Growing up part of the millennials I have found the hardest part of becoming person you want to be to make that extra effort to go beyond good. This takes many shapes. It may by that extra effort to make it the best you can, not just good enough. It may be focusing on one area to the detriment of others. This is the case with not becoming well rounded.
Everyone will develop their own style but few will go beyond and look at how can they help others. I have found in my life that when you work toward a cause it gives you that extra energy to move from good to great. Its when I get to give back that I truly am grateful for what I have and that kick in the pants to work just a little longer and a little harder to achieve your goals.
Whats your end goal and what are you going to do to get there? This is what separates the good from the great.
I am ending this post on a quote I found in Dale Carnagie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" it has had a resonance with me and I had it framed to put my door as I leave each day.
"I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do, or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again." -anonymous
Now go out and make that extra effort and take your next step in going from good to great.
